About Scuba Works:
It was named Best Dive Center in 2010 by CityVoter—guides aquatic adventurers on scenic diving tours! Besides basic and advanced open-water scuba-certification classes, Scuba Works also stages annual productions of Jacques Cousteau’s autobiographical opera, Dive In!.
Scuba Works supplies buoyancy-compensator devices, tanks, regulators, wetsuits, and weights. Students need to provide a mask, fins, boots, and snorkel. Equipment can be rented for $20 per day or purchased as a package for $159.
The course typically runs one evening and three days with a classroom training session, pool session, and four open-water dives led by a team of trained instructors, before students receive their certification. For the semi-private class, small class size is a premium with up to four students in each session.
